AHWATUKEE, AZ -- The Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce has been noticing a lot more vacant commercial office space lately, as small businesses struggle to make their lease payments.
Drive down Chandler Boulevard off Interstate 10 headed east and you’ll spot signs advertising available commercial space in just about any direction you look.
Mark Deitchman has noticed too.
Through R.P. Ryan Insurance Inc. Deitchman helps commercial clients with their insurance needs.
Some of his clients, such as contractors, had to move their businesses into their homes because they were unable to keep up with the expenses of having a “brick and mortar” office.
This sparked an idea for Deitchman.
He thought of creating an affordable way to give small business owners or sales representatives the feel of an office.
That’s when he launched VOA – Virtual Office Arizona.
For $99 a month you’ll have access to a desk and conference room at an Ahwatukee office.
There is also free Wi-Fi and broadband cable Internet.
On your business cards you will now have a mailing address so you don’t have to use your home address and Deitchman offers mail service.
For more than a decade Deitchman worked from home himself and understands the challenge of trying to balance home and work when your coffee table is your conference table.
Not to mention the many distractions at home.
The “virtual office” allows participants that coveted quiet time as well as serving as a space to meet clients, make phone calls and have routine social interaction with other professionals that can help you network and avoid the isolation of working at home.
In a news release Deitchman explained, “The virtual office market in Phoenix has a number of major competitors offering major suites of services. They are focused on those businesses with some major expendable budget.”
He went on to say, “However, there is a major market segment that is not served. That market includes the entrepreneur working on a shoe string; the home based business; the multi-level marketer; sales reps and so on. That is the focus of VOA, the businessperson with a limited budget but one that could greatly benefit by having an office address, affordable telephone service, mail service and more.”
He just launched VOA and said he already has almost 10 clients.
He said he can host dozens more because many of the people using the service don’t overlap as they come and go at different times.
For an additional $30 a month you can also have a “state of the art digital telephone service.”
Cory Sanders of Secure Cloud Solutions is offering that service.
Sanders explained how you will have a “virtual” work phone number which you can customize any which way you want.
You can set it up to go to your home phone, mobile phone or straight to voicemail. This way clients can reach you without having your personal cell.
VOA is located at 15815 South 46th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85048.
For $99 a month, that could also be your address.
